The Propellor Car Challenge is a hands-on learning experience focused on bringing the Maker Movement into the minds and hands of every  middle school student and their teachers within the next two years. Through building, modifying, branding, and writing about their individual car, students bring content knowledge from science and math to life in order to compete against other district students to claim the title of “Propeller Car Champion.” To learn more about the Propeller Car Challenge visit

This challenge is currently being run in several NYC school districts and includes professional development for all participating educators that focuses on how teachers can effortlessly incorporate maker-focused, project based learning, into their units, curriculum and pedagogical philosophy.

Participating schools receive class kits, student workbook, lesson plans and admittance to participate in district-wide races.
